He was among the faith leaders arrested while advocating for justice following the killing of Stephon Clark, a tragic event that catalyzed the passage of AB392, the strictest police use-of-force law in the United States.
He has stood with over 1,000 protesters and faith leaders at the U.S. southern border, demanding the release of children from detention centers and their reunification with families. Rev. Kev’s compassion also extended to a Yemeni mother, aiding in the temporary lifting of the Muslim travel ban so she could reunite with her dying son in San Francisco.

In 2023, Rev. Kev received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Trinity International University of Ambassadors, adding to his extensive list of accolades, including induction into the Martin Luther King, Jr. Clergy Hall of Honor at Morehouse.

Rev.
