Lock Will Griffiths is the latest player to sign a first senior Ospreys contract.

The 20-year-old made six senior appearances in 2018-19.

Griffiths is a former Wales Under-18s captain and also had leadership experience as an Ospreys academy player.

Griffiths follows fellow academy products Morgan Morris, Dewi Lake, Harri Morgan and Tiaan Thomas-Wheeler in committing his future to Ospreys.

Wales and British and Irish Lions lock Alun Wyn Jones is among the players who has inspired Griffiths at Ospreys.

“There are some legends here in my position that I can learn from, they all help in training,” said Griffiths.

“You come in every day and learn something new from them. I’ve got to make sure I keep developing so when the senior boys go away for Welsh camp I can step in and do the same job they do.”

Meanwhile, Ospreys have awarded development contracts to six teenagers.

Eighteen-year-olds Travis Huntley (Tondu RFC/Bridgend College), Bradley Roderick (Resolven RFC/NPTC), Morgan Strong (Tondu RFC/Bridgend College) and Rhys Thomas (Taibach RFC/NPTC), and 17-year-olds Harri Deaves (Pontyclun RFC/Bridgend College) and James Fender (South Gower RFC/NPTC) make the step up from age-grade rugby.

All six have either been capped at international age-grade during last season or are set to be involved with Wales Under-18s this summer.
