Dr. Alton White Sr.: A Lifetime of Service, Leadership, and Community Impact

Dr. Alton White Sr. is a dedicated father, grandfather, retired supply chain professional, business owner, Desert Storm Veteran, and community advocate. As Co-founder of the Phoenix Rising Servicing Group, a nonprofit organization focused on assisting veterans and their families, Dr. White exemplifies a life committed to service, mentorship, and leadership.
A Foundation of Service
Dr. White’s passion for helping others began in his youth in Detroit, Michigan. As a teenager, he assisted elderly neighbors with household tasks like snow removal and yard maintenance, later volunteering through his high school swim team to organize drives for families in need. These early experiences laid the groundwork for a lifetime of service.
Military Service and Sacrifice
In pursuit of a calling to serve on a larger scale, Dr. White enlisted in the U.S. Army after high school. His military career included deployment during the Gulf War, where he demonstrated a willingness to sacrifice for the greater good. His time in the armed forces helped him develop a strong foundation in logistics, teamwork, and leadership—skills that would later serve him in both his professional career and community work.
Pursuit of Education and Professional Growth
Despite interruptions to his education due to military service, Dr. White returned to school after starting a family, earning a Bachelor of Science in Finance (Cum Laude) and an MBA with a focus on Finance from Colorado Technical University. His commitment to education not only advanced his career but also deepened his engagement in community-focused initiatives.
As a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Dr. White embraced opportunities to give back, participating in programs like Meals on Wheels, mentoring young boys in the Alpha Esquires program, and supporting families in need. His mentoring work with Alpha Esquires included teaching life skills such as etiquette, conflict resolution, and event organization—empowering young men to become responsible citizens.

Coaching and Leadership Development
Dr. White extended his mentorship to the Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL), coaching boys in track and field events such as the 400-meter dash and relay races. By focusing on the unique needs of each athlete and their families, he cultivated teamwork and personal growth, instilling values of discipline and perseverance in young athletes.
Professional Excellence in Supply Chain Management
Dr. White’s career in supply chain management allowed him to apply his military-acquired skills in logistics, manufacturing, and warehousing. With experience at BASF Corporation, he honed his ability to build teams, manage operations, and optimize resources. These professional experiences further equipped him to lead community initiatives and improve the lives of others.
Phoenix Rising Servicing Group: Supporting Veterans
Recognizing the challenges faced by displaced veterans, Dr. White co-founded Phoenix Rising Servicing Group to provide essential resources and support. Through this nonprofit, he launched initiatives to assist veterans and their families in accessing affordable housing and everyday necessities. As a Michigan-licensed realtor and real estate investor, he leverages his expertise to provide safe, affordable housing for veterans, fulfilling a critical community need.
A Legacy of Service and Leadership
Dr. White’s lifelong dedication to service is evident in every facet of his life. Whether mentoring young men, coaching athletes, or supporting veterans, his impact has been transformative. A devoted father and grandfather, he takes pride in his role as a family man and in the legacy of compassion and leadership he is creating for future generations.
