Dr. Elisha Reed: A Visionary Leader in Philanthropy, Education, and Ministry

Dr. Elisha Reed is a dynamic trailblazer whose work spans mental health, youth mentorship, business entrepreneurship, and ministry. As the founder of EREEDME Creations, Dr. Reed has dedicated her career to empowering individuals and communities through innovative programs, inspirational speaking, and therapeutic practices. Her commitment to service and advocacy has left an indelible mark on countless lives.

A Distinguished Career in Mental Health and Youth Advocacy

With over 20 years of experience working for the State of Georgia, Dr. Reed served as a Clinician, Education Director, and Training Administrator. Her groundbreaking initiatives, including the Positive Girls to Positive Women program and Boys to Men mentoring group, transformed the lives of young people in the DeKalb County School System and Regional Youth Detention Centers. Her dedication to underserved communities also extended to police recruit training, where she provided expertise on mental health issues to improve care for individuals in custody.

Breaking Barriers in Mental Health Training

Dr. Reed made history as the first Black female Training Program Administrator at Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta, where she spearheaded the psychiatric training department. Her leadership introduced culturally sensitive training programs for hospital staff, earning them continuing education credits while improving treatment outcomes for women of color with addiction challenges.

Entrepreneurship with a Purpose

Dr. Reed’s entrepreneurial spirit is evident in her ventures, including opening one of Lithonia’s first Black-owned beauty supply stores and launching Jazzy’s Essentials, an online beauty supply platform co-founded with her daughters. She also leveraged her business acumen to provide self-sufficiency classes for single mothers during her internship at Perry Homes, helping residents develop entrepreneurial skills, create business plans, and gain job readiness training.

Inspiring Through Writing and Training

Dr. Reed co – authored the anthology Girlfriend Therapy, sharing her personal journey of resilience and perseverance. This project inspired her signature training, Breaking Free from Limitations, which addresses the topics depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma. Through these sessions, she equips attendees with tools to overcome life’s challenges, furthering her mission to promote healing and empowerment.

Ministry and Community Leadership

An ordained minister with a passion for youth and women’s ministries, Dr. Reed has impacted lives across Georgia through her work in churches and community organizations. She has served as a speaker for events such as the True Love Waits Youth Conference, the Gang Youth Conference, and the Ministry to Women Conference. Dr. Reed’s ministry emphasizes spiritual growth, abstinence education, and providing resources for addictive diseases.

Recognized Service and Leadership

Dr. Reed’s community service extends to her active membership in the Order of the Eastern Star, where she has held leadership roles and received the prestigious Trailblazer Award for her contributions to charitable work. She also serves as Chair of the Ethics and By – Laws Committee for the 100 Coalition of Black Women and has been featured in the United Negro College Fund Annual Report for her advocacy efforts.

Married to her husband, Chris, for 40 years, Dr. Reed is a devoted wife, mother to three children, and grandmother to three. Her family serves as the foundation of her life’s work, inspiring her mission to uplift others.
